Sharon Samuels love to push others to reach for their best. She feels that even though triathlon and long distance running are considered individual sports, athletes can pull from the strength of those they train with. When Sharon races she says “I hear the voices of my coaches and training buddies edging me on when the going gets tough”. A few of her endurance sport career highlights are a feature article in Runner’s World magazine in November of 2001 and running her first sub-4 hour marathon in Chicago in 2006. So far she completed 13 marathons, 7 half-marathons and 7 triathlons ranging in distance from sprint to half-iroman.

Sharon has a Masters of Architecture from UIC and when she’s not out running or coaching at the track she works as an Architect & Designer, and is the Principal of her own firm, Solquest Design Unlimited.

Her goals for the 2013 race season are to beat her marathon and half marathon PR’s, race 2 triathlons and stay injury free!
